1. What is home water conditioning?
Home water conditioning refers to the design and installation of relevant water treatment equipment at appropriate positions of the household water supply pipeline according to the household water quality situation: water softeners, pure water machines, water purifiers, precision filters, faucets, etc., to improve the quality of drinking and domestic water in the home, and achieve the four modernizations of household drinking water: "healthier, more convenient, more automated, more fashionable"
2. What is the working principle of home water conditioning?
Principle of water purifiers: microfiltration and ultrafiltration. Materials used: hollow fiber, activated carbon, etc. are used as filtration or adsorption materials.
Principle of pure water machines: RO reverse osmosis technology. Micropore filtration, the pore size is so small that only water molecules and minerals smaller than the diameter of water molecules can pass through.
Principle of water softeners: cation resin exchange. Sodium ions adsorbed on the resin in the water softener displace calcium and magnesium ions in the water, and the water containing sodium ions flows out to become "soft water", until all the resin surface is occupied by calcium and magnesium ions and can no longer perform ion exchange.
3. What conditions should high-quality drinking water meet?
① It is free of bacteria, impurities, organic matter, heavy metals, etc., and is pollution-free water;
② It is small molecular cluster water, with strong permeability and good solubility. Generally, the water molecular cluster is composed of about 18-20 water molecules, while the smaller molecular cluster water (about 5 water molecules) is more neatly arranged, and thus has a higher oxygen content;
③ It contains minerals and trace elements in an appropriate proportion, existing in an ionic state, which is suitable for human absorption;
④ It has a weakly alkaline pH value, which can neutralize excess acid in the human body;
⑤ It has negative potential, which can eliminate excess free radicals in the human body;
⑥ It contains an appropriate amount of oxygen (about 5mg/L)
5. I just boil the water when I need drinking water, why do I still need a water purifier?
10. What are the non-negotiable conditions for installing a water softener?
A water softener is generally installed after the main household water meter. Since the installation of a water softener requires a power supply and a floor drain, it is necessary to arrange a sewage pipeline and reserve a power line near the main water inlet, and the relationship between the size of the water softener, the house structure, and furniture and home appliances needs to be considered in the design stage. If all conditions are met, the installation can be carried out smoothly. If the house is already decorated and you need to install a water softener, it will depend on the existing conditions of your home, and pipeline modification is required when conditions are not met.

11. How to choose a water softener?
The selection of a water softener is mainly determined based on your household water quality (alkalinity, hardness) and water consumption. Generally, factors such as the number of users, housing area, water hardness, and water consumption need to be considered. For high water hardness and large water consumption, you should choose a large-sized water softener. Conversely, if your household water quality is good and the water consumption is not large, you can choose a small water softener, which can even be placed in the cabinet without occupying usable space.
12. How to choose a household water purifier?
The structure of household water purifiers roughly includes coarse filtration, activated carbon adsorption, ion exchange resin, hollow fiber and reverse osmosis membrane. To choose an ideal and practical water purifier, you should consider from the following aspects:
Choose branded products. When purchasing a water purifier, users should all recognize the importance of product quality. Manufacturers producing water purifiers must obtain a hygiene license from the superior health supervision department, pass the appraisal by the technical supervision department, and meet the national *Standard for Drinking Water Quality*.
② Choose products with high cost-performance ratio.
Different structures of water purifiers have different water purification effects. Generally speaking, the single-stage filtration water purifier has a simple structure, mainly using activated carbon, and its filtration capacity is limited. It can only be used for coarse filtration, and the filtered water is better to be heated and boiled before drinking. Most single-stage filtration water purifiers are low-grade water purification products, with a price between tens of yuan and 150 yuan per unit.
Multi-stage filtration water purifier. This type of water purifier has two or three stages of coarse filtration and one set of fine filtration, and the fine filtration mostly uses hollow fiber filter elements, so the filtered water can be drunk directly. Multi-stage filtration water purifiers belong to mid-range water purification products, with a price between 1000 yuan and 2000 yuan per unit, which is affordable for working-class people, and are widely used in families at present.
Reverse osmosis pure water machines have an ideal water purification effect. It has three stages of pre-filtration (also called security filtration), one stage of precision filtration with reverse osmosis membrane and one stage of post-filtration. The filtered water is free of bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, organic matter, minerals, and abnormal color and odor. It is pure water and can be drunk directly without heating. This type of reverse osmosis pure water machine belongs to high-grade water purification products, with a price of about 2000-3000 yuan per unit.
③ Choose according to water quality.
Water hardness varies in different regions. In northern China with high water hardness and southern limestone areas, the content of calcium and magnesium ions in water is high, which is easy to form scale, so you should choose a water filter with ion exchange resin filter elements.
For urban tap water with high chlorine content, heavy abnormal color and odor, and high organic matter content, you can choose a household water purifier with high activated carbon loading. Because activated carbon has a strong adsorption effect on residual chlorine, abnormal color and odor in water, and has an obvious removal effect on organic matter.
For the purification of turbid tap water in urban and rural areas, you should choose a household water purifier with dual functions of coarse filtration and fine filtration.
For areas with serious water pollution, where it is required to filter out bacteria, viruses, abnormal color and odor, pesticides, heavy metals and other impurities in water and drink directly without heating, you should choose a reverse osmosis pure water machine.
13. Four filtration technologies of water purifiers (generally speaking, it is the technology of filter core + membrane):
① Coarse filtration/Microfiltration:
It is simple filtration, which uses the pores on the membrane surface for filtration. The pore size of a microfiltration membrane is generally 0.5-1 micron, which can only filter visible impurities such as mud, rust, colloid and large bacterial clumps. The water treated by microfiltration membrane can only be clear to the sense, and cannot be used as qualified drinking water. Common products on the market are one-tube, two-tube, three-tube filtration devices. Core materials: 5μ PPF fiber filter element and granular, lumpy or compressed activated carbon filter element
② Ultrafiltration: (abbreviated as UF)
It is a physical screening process that uses pressure as the driving force and separates liquid by different pore sizes of the ultrafiltration membrane. Its molecular weight cut-off (CWCO) is generally 6,000 to 500,000, and the pore diameter is 0.1-0.01 microns. In water treatment, it can mainly filter out macromolecular organic matter such as bacteria, viruses, pigments, carbon powder, but cannot effectively remove low-molecular organic matter such as pesticides, herbicides, detergents, heavy metals and harmful substances such as iron and manganese ions generated during tap water transportation. Generally speaking, the water purified by ultrafiltration water purification products with an ultrafiltration pore size of 0.01 microns can meet the standard for direct drinking, only the overall filtration effect, water quality and taste are not as good as RO reverse osmosis. Products with a pore size of 0.1 microns cannot meet the direct drinking standard, please pay attention when purchasing. Core material: hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane
③ Nanofiltration membrane: (abbreviated as NF)
It is a type of reverse osmosis membrane, a pressure-driven membrane between reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration. The pore size of nanofiltration membrane ranges from 0.01 to 0.001 microns. Under this pore size, low-molecular organic matter such as pesticides, herbicides, detergents, and heavy metals cannot pass through, while ions smaller than this pore size can partially pass through. Because it is between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis, this type of equipment is not widely promoted and sold. Core material: nanofiltration membrane
